ljubljana games club - BABBDI (2022)

= ENGLISH =
ljubljana games club is a book club, except instead of reading books we play games. we meet up every second thursday of the month in the spaces of MSUM+ from 18:00 to 20:00.
8th of April 18:00, MSUM bookstore
Why do we fantasize of "breaking out of bounds" in linear games, yet in open worlds "see that mountain? You can climb over there." ny now feels almost mundane?
You can ponder this on the train, but first you need to get a ticket and make your way to the train station. The mission is simple - You need to leave the city of BABBDI.
On the next meeting we will discuss the short indie hit BABBDI by Lemaitre brothers. Alongside talking about the game itself we will talk about digital spaces as self-sufficient worlds, exploration games, boundary breaks, about tricks games pull to give a false sense of a larger world and of course about any topics that might come up during the discussion itself.
BABBDI is available for free on Steam and Itch.io and takes somewhere between 10 minutes and an hour to complete.
